So, tax day is Monday and Matthew learned a valuable lesson. He doesn't really understand anything about how taxes work. He owes much more than he can pay. He is in lots of trouble. Frustrated, he ashamedly turns to his parents for help. Expecting to be humiliated by asking for help and to burden his parents, he begrudgingly called his parents... And once again he was surprised by their wisdom and understanding.
God has a way of doing that. I've always appreciated my parents and had good relationships with them, but, as I get older, I continue to be surprised by their love for me. I am still a child, and they are my parents. How much God must love me to have put me in their lives. How frightening that He loves me more than they do.
I'm thankful for good parents also-- we are blessed!
